Subject: Fwd: Tuesday's Full Council Meeting
Hello All,

Eleven of us went to the Full Council meeting on Tuesday.  The public gallery was packed out with people supporting other worthy causes. It turned out that there were 64 statements, mainly from three separate campaigning groups.  18 of these were about the Sefton Park Expansion (17 opposing and one for the expansion).  We were briefed before the meeting and told to choose three speakers from each group.  The three names had to be submitted to the Mayor.  They did not strictly enforce the two minute rule.  It actually worked out well as our exposure was on an equal basis with the other (larger) groups.
Stephen McNamara (The Council's legal man) said 'we are very popular today'. He seemed to miss that the public gallery was packed with people who disagreed with Council policies!

Details of the meeting can be seen on the council website.  All your statements are there. You can even watch a webcast of the meeting!
Decisions on Sefton Park will be made at the Cabinet meeting on 30th October at 4:00pm.

Regards,
Andrew
